Parker River National Wildlife Refuge is thrilled to welcome back Ipswich photographer Emily T. Nelson as our Artist of the Month for August and September!
Many of you may remember Emily’s stunning previous exhibit, which transported visitors to the Pantanal, the world’s largest freshwater wetland. This month, she takes us on an even more epic journey to the pristine, windswept landscapes of Antarctica and Patagonia.
This new collection is the result of an incredible four-week sojourn Emily undertook by boat, plane, van, and on foot. Traversing some of the planet's most remote and beautiful environments, she captured over 12,000 photographs of the unique wildlife she encountered.
From that vast collection, Emily has carefully curated a selection of twenty-two breathtaking images to share with the Parker River community. The exhibit features a diverse array of fauna, from majestic birds and powerful mammals to fascinating insects and reptiles, all thriving in their wild, untouched habitats.
We invite you to stop by the Visitor Center throughout August and September to experience these powerful images and get a glimpse into the wild heart of our planet’s southern extremes.
