How does marsh restoration benefit shorebirds? What impacts will the Stage Island impoundment restoration have on birding opportunity? And who are those people out in the marsh?
Join Parker River National Wildlife Refuge staff for a special "Marsh Restoration for Birders" presentation on Thursday, September 10 at 6:00 p.m. at the refuge visitor center.
Refuge biologist Nancy Pau will discuss different restoration processes, salt marsh ecology, and the historic human-made alterations to Plum Island's salt marshes — along with what all of it means for bird populations and viewing opportuniti
There will be time for questions, for sharing wildlife observation data, and for conversation around management, restoration, and the natural and human-caused shifts in habitat and wildlife.
