This September, Parker River welcomes Cara Gonier, a New England–based, award-winning painter and printmaker, as our Artist of the Month. Her exhibit features a collection of sea- and landscapes marked by the atmospheric quality she's known for.
Cara's work has been collected internationally and shown in solo, invitational, museum, and juried exhibitions, and was featured in International Artist Magazine's "Master Painters of the World." She's also the founder and executive director of Rolling River Printmakers of New England, a group of professional artists exhibiting prints throughout the region, and shares her love of printmaking and painting through workshops and educational programs.
Before turning to art full-time, Cara spent thirty years in health care as an ophthalmology technician, working with pediatric and elderly patients.
The exhibit is on view at the Parker River Visitor Center, 6 Plum Island Turnpike, Newburyport, through September 30.
