The Friends of Parker River National Wildlife Refuge invite you to share your creativity at our "Poetry and Tea: A Harvest Event." Join us for a morning dedicated to original or favorite poems that celebrate the Refuge, conservation, and the world of birding.
This event is free and open to poets of all ages who wish to share their work.
Important Notice Regarding Event Location
Please be aware that the location for this event is contingent on the status of the U.S. government shutdown.
The event is scheduled to be held at the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center (6 Plum Island Turnpike).
However, if the government shutdown continues, the event will be moved to the Mass Audubon Joppa Flats Education Center (1 Plum Island Turnpike).
A final decision on the location will be made by Tuesday, October 21st, and will be communicated to all registered readers and the public.
The date and time of the event (October 25th, 10 a.m. - 12 noon) will not change.

Date: Saturday, October 25, 2025
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
Participation: The reading is limited to 20 poets. Each poet may read one poem, with a time limit of five minutes. Please bring copies of the poem you plan to read.
Registration: Pre-registration is required. Please email Friends@ParkerRiver.org to reserve your spot to read.
